Hey Everybody!
It's been a little while hasn't it? I've been busy with work since there's all sorts of training for the new school year. I'm really looking forward to teaching the lovely ladies at Mukogawa women's university! I'll be teaching there two days a week. I'm a little nervous because I've never taught a larger class before. Should be interesting though...who'd of thought...professor Norm. haha I think I'll have to start looking for a tweed jacket with some leather patches. Perhaps a pipe too?
As I previously mentioned, it's cherry blossom (sakura) season in Japan. They're blooming a little early this year because of the freakishly warm winter we had. It's almost ridiculous the obsession people have with this event every year. There was a whole sakura watch on the news every night. Way hardcore.
On Thursday Val and I went to Osaka castle park and I managed to snap some choice pics.
Even though there were quite a few people in the park, strolling around was quite nice and relaxing. Surprisingly tranquil.
The other funny thing I saw was a bunch of dudes in suits walking around. Granted, I now have Thursdays off, but the guys I saw were office types. Shouldn't they be at work?
I'm thinking we should start playing Where's Val in the same vein as Where's Waldo. I'm always amazed to see white people here.
I went a little trigger happy with my camera and took way too many pictures. You can check out the rest of them here
If you're still hankering for more sakura coverage, check out my other album taken at Yasaka shrine here
I'm still sorting some other photos from other recent happenings so hopefully I'll have something else for you guys soon. Omizutori and tea ceremony anybody?
Ja-ne!
